Barrington Books Retold - Christmas rap music video
Here's a Christmas video I did in 2016 for a local bookstore. They thought Santa was too weird. They never used it. The song was from someone related to the owner. I recently rediscovered this and decided to post it. What do you think? Is Santa too weird?

    The M-20 is a standard duty transmission. Z-28's had M-22 "rock crusher" transmissions, not the M-20. The gears in the M-22 were straight-cut instead of helical like in the M-20. Straight-cut gears are stronger but they are noisy hence the name "rock crusher".

    • @rwj1313
      @rwj1313 4 роки тому

      @slade bonge M-20's, M-21's, T-10s, and other manual did appear in Z-28's AFTER 1970 but the 70 1/2 Z-28's with manuals came STANDARD with an M-22. In 1970, unless you ordered an automatic, the Z-28's only came with the M-22. I owned one of them, as did my best friend, and also a coworker. All of them had M-22's. I have rebuilt M20's, M-21's, M-22's, and even a T-10 and I know the history of those transmissions well. The manual transmissions in the 70 Z-28's had a very distinctive whine due to the M-22s straight cut gears. M-20's and 21's have helical cut gears which makes them quieter. The M-21 even had the same gear ratio's as the M-22 but everything in the M-22 was stronger. The 11:1 compression ratio of the LT1 produced higher torque and horsepower than the Z-28's from 71 on up. The LT1 was the standard engine for the 70 Z-28 and the M-22 was the only manual GM paired with 1970 Z-28's and LT1 optioned Corvettes. The M-22 was NOT a special order item on the 1970 Z-28. It was part of the Z-28 package. I have never seen any OFFICIAL GM document that confirms what you are claiming. Believe whatever you want but you are wrong.

      @slade bonge Lighten up Francis. I never said you couldn't get an automatic in the 70 1/2 Z-28 and never brought up AC. As a retired automation and robotics engineer I would love to see what an F-body "FACTORY ASSEMBLY MANUAL" looks like. Why don't you post a picture of your "FACTORY ASSEMBLY MANUAL". I've worked in manufacturing my entire adult life. The last job I had I worked for Thyssen Krupp System Engineering. They build the robots and automation responsible for building and testing engines, transmissions, and rear axels for nearly every car manufacturer on the planet. I have written programs for machines that build portions of engines and then had to write the operators' manuals for those machines. I would love to see what a "FACTORY ASSEMBLY MANUAL" looks like. I would guess it might look something like the Understanding Women book seen here: www.flickr.com/photos/109161978@N03/49146230943 I can only assume you got taken when you bought your Z-28 and the idea of being scammed is bothering you.

    • @rwj1313
      @rwj1313 4 роки тому

      @slade bonge That's not how it works. You claimed you had a "FACTORY ASSEMBLY MANUAL" that would support your claims. So show me.

    • @rwj1313
      @rwj1313 4 роки тому

      @slade bonge You are using some fanboys website as your source of information. And the very first sentence in the engine information is incorrect. "Engine: Includes special 350 CID, 360-bhp V-8 derived from Corvette LT-1." The LT-1 was originally developed for the Z-28, not the Corvette. The LT-1 in the Corvette was factory rated to have slightly more power than the LT-1 in the Z-28. Zora Arkus Duntov was not going to have a Z-28 with more power than a Vette. The engines are part for part identical according to factory parts manuals. The only thing different was the Vettes had "rams horn" exhaust manifolds which might account for the discrepancy. 1970 Z-28's with 4 speeds came with "heavy-duty" close ratio 4 speeds. The M-22 is the only Muncie to have the "heavy-duty" moniker. Your "source" confirms this as does this website. I don't know which site copied the other but they both have a lot of the exact same information worded exactly the same. www.ss396.com/cars/1970-Camaro/ One last thing, "Grampa" was building engines, rebuilding transmissions, and doing a frame-off restoration of his Z-28 probably before you were born. It looks like I may actually have grandchildren before you post your "FACTORY ASSEMBLY MANUAL".

    • @rwj1313
      @rwj1313 4 роки тому

      @slade bonge Believe whatever you want to believe. The source you provided doesn't support your claim. Where is that "FACTORY ASSEMBLY MANUAL" you claimed to possess? How hard would it be to take a picture of the manual and the page "which clearly states otherwise"? I'll let you have the last word for now. This is boring to me.

    I love the 70 Camaro. I only dislike two Detroit trim options for muscle cars. I cannot figure why people put vinyl tops on muscle cars. It ruins the flow of the overall design language. The other pet peeve is to ruin a muscle car with an automatic. The sound of running through the gears and shifting is why we enjoy driving these great cars.

My comments are intended to convey frustration at how relatively few hot rods and muscle cars within the car culture are manuals. A manual just sounds cooler when you run through the gears. I come from a time in my youth ( mid to late 60's) when automatics were usually disdained at car gatherings. Different world from now.

ALL that primer is incorrect, the splatter paint went on quarters A lot higher. Do the ign. Cables have Packard on them? Your rear spring leafs are too thick. The rear end sets much too high. The ass end sets higher on one side than other. Your neg. Batt. Cable to alt .bracket is incorrect on end, yours is a slide on end. Orig. had a wrap around end, with the flat side against alt. bracket. A wonderful Beautiful car, with remarkable detail. Love that color and paint. Note: when detailing a black detail , it is good to have the correct black.,not gloss black,not flat black but universal black. Nothing wrong with an M20 Muncie. The 4th gear is an overdrive gear, so you can get better gas mileage. I had one once in a '72 Camaro with a hipo 327 motor, I got about 25 mpg on the highway with it. It is a tough tranny, and can take a lot of abuse, at least from a small block.
